Nine Lives

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

Nine Lives: Cat Logic Puzzle (“the Game”, “we”, “our”) is published by Codenova Tech. The Game runs entirely on your device — the puzzles, your progress, your cats and your settings never leave it. We collect only what we need to keep the Game stable, funded, and improving. This policy explains what is collected, why, and what you can turn off.

1. Information we collect

There is no account. You do not give us a name, an email address, a phone number, or a password to play. What the Game touches falls into these categories:

  • On-device game data. Levels cleared, stars, coins, hints, reveals, hearts, streaks, unlocked cats and themes, statistics and your settings are stored in the app’s own storage on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
  • Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics). Pseudonymous usage events — which screens you open, which levels you start and finish, how long a session lasts, which features get used — together with a randomly generated install identifier, a session number, your app version, and general device and country information supplied by the platform. The install identifier is a random value created on first launch; it is not derived from your device, your hardware, or anything about you, and uninstalling the Game destroys it.
  • Crash and stability data (Firebase Crashlytics). If the Game crashes or hits an error we receive a stack trace, the device model, the OS version and the build of the Game, so we can fix it.
  • Advertising (Google AdMob). Ads fund the free version. To serve them, Google may process your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, and coarse information about the ad request. Ad content is capped at a PG rating. Whether ads are personalized, and whether ad measurement data is used, depends on the consent choices described in section 4.
  • Purchases. Coin packs and the ads-free upgrade are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We see only what their SDKs return — the product identifier, a transaction identifier and whether it validated. We never see your card number, billing address, or store account.
  • Leaderboards (optional). If you choose to sign in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), that service handles the sign-in and shows your chosen alias next to your score. We submit a score; we do not receive or store your account credentials, and the Game never asks for the leaderboard until you have solved at least ten boards.
  • Remote configuration (Firebase Remote Config). The Game fetches a small settings file so we can tune balance, roll out features, and correct problems without shipping an update. The request carries only standard app and device metadata.

2. What we do not collect

  • No name, email address, phone number, or account of any kind.
  • No contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera access.
  • No precise location. We never request location permission.
  • No push notification token. Reminders and streak nudges are scheduled locally on your device — nothing is sent from a server, and nothing about them reaches us.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

3. How we use it

  • To keep the Game running and to fix crashes.
  • To understand which levels are too hard, which features get used, and where players get stuck.
  • To process in-app purchases through Apple or Google, and to restore the ads-free upgrade you paid for.
  • To serve the ads that fund the free-to-play version, and to measure whether they worked.
  • To answer you when you contact support.

We do not use your data to build a profile of you outside the Game, and we do not run automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Consent and your choices

  • Consent comes first. Where consent is required — the EEA, the UK, and other regions covered by Google’s consent framework — the Game shows a consent form on first launch, before any analytics or advertising data is collected. Until you answer, nothing is written to disk or sent anywhere; if you decline, it is discarded.
  • Change your mind at any time. Where the consent form applies, a Privacy options row appears in the Game’s Settings screen and reopens it.
  • iOS app tracking. On iOS you are shown Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Your advertising identifier (IDFA) is only used for tracking if you allow it, and you can change the answer in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Device ad settings. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time — iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or Android Settings → Google → Ads.
  • Notifications. Reminders only appear if you grant notification permission, and you can revoke it in your device settings or switch them off in the Game’s Settings screen.
  • Remove ads. The ads-free upgrade removes banner and interstitial ads entirely. Ads also stay off for everyone until level ten.

5. Children

Nine Lives is built for a general, all-ages audience. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ad content is capped at a PG rating. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the Game, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Third-party services

The Game integrates the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase — Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config (policy).
  • Google AdMob — advertising and consent management (policy).
  • Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases and Game Center (policy).
  • Google Play — Android distribution, in-app purchases and Play Games (policy).

7. Data retention

Analytics and crash data are retained by our processors for a limited period, in line with their standard retention windows, and then aggregated or deleted. Everything else lives on your device until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the Game — uninstalling deletes your progress and the install identifier, and it cannot be recovered.

8. International transfers

Our processors — Google and Apple — operate globally, so the limited data described above may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States. Those transfers rely on the safeguards those companies publish, such as standard contractual clauses.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, India’s DPDP Act and others), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of personal information, and to complain to your supervisory authority. Because the Game holds no account, the fastest way to erase everything we could ever link to your device is to uninstall it. For anything else, email us at the address below — tell us the platform and approximate date of first install so we can locate the pseudonymous records.

10. Security

We keep the amount of data we handle deliberately small, and rely on the platform encryption and transport security provided by iOS, Android and our processors. No transmission or storage is ever completely secure; keeping your device OS up to date is the single most useful thing you can do.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Game evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change, and material changes will be highlighted inside the Game.
